Fini!

I put in the zipper today, and she's DONE! What's even better is that it's my very first sweater ever -- I'm just ever so impressed with myself!

One thing that helped a lot with zipper installation was to make a row of single crochet along the edge of the neck-opening -- it gave me a lot more to sew onto than just the single row of knit stitches.

Yay for finished sweaters!!

Hey y'all! I'm finally done with the knitting and blocking, and am in the midst of SEAMING! Oooh, fun (not). I should be done with the seaming and hopefully the weaving-in-of-ends tonight, and will post a picture. I promised Nancy I would wait until Stitch 'n Bitch to put in the zipper, and will keep that promise! So, I may, if I'm lucky, be done on Sunday! (hope I didn't jinx myself)

Call me lame. Call me a wuss. Heck, call me Ishmael if that's your thing.

Sorry I'm so late in joining in, but I'm here now and ready & roaring to go! I've finally started my Tricot and have been able to get the back done up to the 2nd increases. (Not too shabby in a couple o' day, eh?) I hope to post a pix this weekend, so y'all can enjoy too. (Perhaps a foto of three progressive Tricots? Chris', Petra's, and mine. Huh?)

Have a great weekend!

Why is it when you plan to take a photo first thing in the morning before hurrying off to work the weather's crap, you have to put all the lights on so you might has well have taken it last night when you had more time. Anyway here it is is finished:

I had a bit of a trial with the zip. It was too long so I cut it. That was no problem but what I forgot was not too pull it up all the way and of course it went flying of the end. I spent about 30 minutes trying to put the metal pull thing back on but it wouldn't go. So I thought how about Norwegian clasps. I sewed on three sets but they didn't look right so it was back to the zipper and I finally managed to get that sorted and sewed it in. Just as well, I'm planning to wear Tricot tomorrow.

Just finished the back . . . though I'm not sure how to post a picture here (do I have to link to the photo on my site?). Anyway, photos are up at skittermagoo if anyone wants to see! :)

I'm still on the back, too, about maybe 15 inches in? Anyway, I'm going to hopefully get a lot more done on it tonight while I catch up on almost a month's worth of ER that I've got on my TiVo. Pictures to come on my blog (www.skittermagoo.com) if I make some progress! Maybe, just maybe I will get to the armhole shaping by the time I get home from Stitch n Bitch tomorrow . . . I'm beginning to think I'm not a very fast knitter.
I am still on the back! About 9 inches done. I have only been working on it to/from work and lunch, I am very unorganized right now and have 3 projects going. I like using the CottonEase, it's soft, makes nice stitch definition and of course it was affordable! My husband is happy with the colors, they are the colors of his favorite team, the Denver Broncos. So, for me, this isn't a soccer mom sweater, it's a football widow sweater! HA! The way I figure it, I might get attention in this if I stand close to the T.V.

Half-a-Tricot
One back and one front completed:

This is a great pattern and I'm loving the yarn.
I lengthened Tricot by 4 cm. I split the increase by doing an extra 1.5 cm before the waist decreasing and then an extra 2.5 cm after the waist shaping. I'm quite long in the body so that's why I have increased the length more after the waist shaping.
I'm going to take a couple of days break and knit a sock so hopefully I won't finish my Tricot before most people have started :-)
